Every year, Star Wars fans come together to celebrate May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day.

The Breakfast Club had a chat with the self-proclaimed ‘Biggest Star Wars Fan in NZ,' Paul’s son, Gabe.

What started as Father-Son bonding time, has grown to what Gabe describes as an addiction to everything Star Wars.

To mark the occasion, cinemas nationwide including Event Cinemas, will be treating fans to a marathon of the films on Saturday and Sunday.

Gabe plans to take his lightsaber with him into the movies as he mentions it is his most prized procession, which features sound effects from the films

“This one was around $700” much to Paul’s surprise as he thought it was only $200.

Gabe explained “This is one of the higher-end ones, Basically the lower-end ones are just a stunt form that glows up like a glow stick. Whereas this one, has lights all along the tube”
